Work Experience
Experience of the world of work is invaluable to young people, and Dean Close School is keen to encourage opportunities for work placements or the sharing of professional practice to prepare a new generation of skilled, caring and resilient employees.

Independently organised placements
Independently organised placements during the school holidays (or for, pending approval, up to 5 days a year term time) are encouraged and often yield the best tailored opportunities for a pupil’s needs. When pupils, parents and guardians organise independent placements, we hope such opportunities go as smoothly and safely as possible. We thus recommend the following form as a way to establish key information about a placement and to assess any possible risks in advance so that pupils, parents/guardians and providers feel confident with expectations and safeguarding requirements for their mutual benefit.
